Installation Position
Mounted directly to the bottom of the engine cylinder block, forming the lower crankcase, located at the lowest section of the diesel engine. Fastened with bolts between oil pan flange and engine block, sealed by oil pan gasket.
Functions
- Serve as storage reservoir for engine lubricating oil, hold the total circulating oil volume of the engine for oil pump suction.
- Collect lubricant flowing back from each friction component inside engine. Internal baffles suppress oil surge under vehicle bumping, climbing or sharp turning to guarantee stable oil supply for oil pump.
- Auxiliary heat dissipation for engine oil via metal shell surface. Enable sediment of metal debris and impurities inside lubricant at bottom sump area.
- Equipped with drain plug port for convenient oil draining during maintenance.
