2. Installation Position
It is mounted on the exhaust side of the engine, directly connected to the engine exhaust manifold.
- Turbine inlet: Connect to exhaust manifold to receive hot exhaust gas from engine cylinders
- Compressor outlet: Connect to intercooler and then engine intake manifold to deliver compressed fresh air
- Oil inlet and outlet lines connect to engine lubrication system for bearing lubrication
- Coolant lines connect to engine cooling circuit for central housing cooling
3. Function
- Recover waste energy from engine exhaust gas to drive the turbine wheel, which spins the compressor wheel on the same shaft.
- The compressor wheel compresses ambient air to increase air density and oxygen mass entering engine cylinders.
- More oxygen allows more fuel to burn completely, raising engine power and torque output without enlarging engine displacement.
- The built-in wastegate controls maximum boost pressure to protect engine and turbocharger from over-boost damage.
- Improve combustion efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and exhaust smoke under heavy load conditions.
