Installation Position
Installed inside the engine cylinder bore, connected to the crankshaft via connecting rod. It sits within the cylinder block, working reciprocally inside the cylinder liner.
Function
- Transmit combustion gas pressure to the connecting rod, convert gas‑force energy into mechanical power for engine output.
- Seal the combustion chamber together with piston rings, prevent high‑pressure combustion gas from leaking into the crankcase.
- Scrape excess engine oil off the cylinder wall to keep proper oil film, avoid engine oil entering the combustion chamber.
- Transfer heat from the combustion chamber to cylinder wall for engine heat dissipation.
